SPRING 2021 SERIES
Session 1: Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4 to 5 pm via Zoom
Session 2: Friday, January 22, 2021 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm on location
WHO: Instructed by Lili Dominguez, Director of Education at Coral Gables Museum and Yvette Cano, Director of Education at Everglades National Park
WHAT: 2 sessions with the theme of nature and the Everglades – 1 Zoom session and 1 face-to-face session. 10 adult students, maximum.
WHERE: Loop Road Education Center at Big Cypress National Preserve. Map will be provided upon registration.
WHEN: Session 1: Zoom session, getting to know the participants, the instructor, and the materials, from 4 to 5 pm
Session 2: On location at the Loop Road Education Center from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
WHY: Printmaking is fun and unique. Learn a new skill or perfect yours while you connect with nature and the wonderful Rockland Hammock habitat. Enhance your observation skills and create a mirror print of your image while indulging in one of the most exceptional forms of artmaking.
LUNCH AND MATERIALS NOT PROVIDED
- Use your sketchbook to create some observation drawings or your camera to take pictures of things around the Loop Road Education Center. For example, unique trees, leaves, animals, insects, etc.
- Learn about Elements of Art and Principles of Design while designing your print (line, texture, shape, balance, emphasis, and composition).
- Find out about Printmaking and the art of relief printing: linocut
- Create your own linocut matrix and an edition of 5 prints with an image inspired by nature.
