WHO: Instructed by Tony Fernandez, Film and Photo instructor at the New World School of the Arts and Yvette Cano, Director of Education at Everglades National Park.
WHAT: 2 sessions with the theme of nature and the Everglades – 1 Zoom session and 1 face-to-face session. 8 adult students maximum.
WHERE: Loop Road Education Center at Big Cypress National Preserve.
WHEN:
- Session 1: Monday, July 27th from 2 to 5 pm. This is a Zoom session, getting to know the participants, the instructor, the location, and the photo equipment required.
- Session 2: Friday, July 31st from 9 am to 4 pm. This will be on location at the Education Center on Loop Road.
WHY: After almost two hundred years, the photographic image continues to evolve and to become increasingly important. This workshop gives you the opportunity to explore the meaning of photographs in relation to your own image-making…all while you connect with nature and the wonderful Rockland Hammock habitat.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH AND DRINK
- Take pictures that you find interesting around the Loop Road Education Center. For example, unique trees, leaves, animals, etc. Share the images in class.
- Explore “the meaning of images,” and learn the components of a “good photograph.”
- Discuss your own work…photos you brought to the workshop…with participants and instructors.
