CGM and D+C Foundation are thrilled to invite museum members to discover the captivating artwork of Cristina Ghetti, the sixth featured artist in the Foundation’s studio residency program.
Cristina Ghetti is an Argentine artist living and working in Valencia, Spain. The visual art tendencies based on geometric abstraction orient conceptual and formally the artwork she is developing since some years ago.
Her production had been mostly focused on painting and installation, recently she began to incorporate new media in her work believing that it can emphasize concepts such as immersive spaces, synaesthesia, interactivity, and participation, analyzing how these characteristics can enrich the conceptual dimensions of the artwork. She positions herself as a Latin American and a feminist artist, investigating the abstract movement from its edges, searching for alternative speeches and hybridizations She has a Master of visual arts and multimedia at the UPV, Polythechnic University Valencia, Spain, she actually develops her doctoral thesis ‘Post Medial Geometry’, where she makes a research about the development of new perspectives on geometric abstraction in visual arts.
The residency program provides a nurturing environment for artists like Cristina to flourish, offering essential resources and fostering creativity.
