This is the final installment of the Museum’s Spring Lecture Series, presented by Ser & Associates. Ever wonder what was in the minds of Miami’s earliest residents? Us too. Join us as we bring together some of Miami’s most unique historically focused institutions as we explore the lives and influences of Glenn Curtiss, James Deering, and George Merrick. The aesthetic vision and architectural influences of these early developers can still be seen today throughout Miami, from Opa-Locka to Biscayne Bay. Representatives from the Curtiss Mansion, Vizcaya, and Coral Gables Historical Resources will each discuss their historic buildings, the visions of their founders, and partake in a panel discussion. Have some burning questions about why James Deering names his winter home Vizcaya? Or maybe why the streets of Coral Gables are named the way they are? Now is your chance to ask! Audience question will be encouraged at the end of the program.
