Hosted by the Coral Gables Museum Building’s 80th Anniversary Committee, this visual arts exhibition showcases the result of a students’ contest that looked at showcasing the beautiful keystone building that once hosted the Coral Gables Police and Fire Station and is currently the home of the Coral Gables Museum. Artists were welcome to consider all things associated with the building either as it was in 1938, when it was conceived, or as it is now – from the architectural, to the historical, civic and/or sculptural aspects.
A jury of professionals in the arts selected the following winners:
Grand prize: Cindy Reyes with the piece, Standing Proud
Second prize: Isha Akutar with the piece, Beauty in Architecture
Third prize: Isabella Sofia Gonzalez with the piece, Cut of Stone
Closing Reception: March 30, 2019 from 6:00-8:30PM
