This project, spearheaded by artist and social practitioner Aurora Molina, stems from our current exhibition “A Matter of Time; Examining Forty Years of AIDS While Living through a Pandemic”, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the first reported case of AIDS. Between April 2nd and July 18th, 2021, different activations and sewing circles with the community will be organized at the Museum to create memories of those who succumbed to AIDS, (or to this current pandemic) from famous to ordinary people, from patients to caretakers, families, and friends.

Inspired by the ten panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt currently on display at the Fewell Gallery of the Museum, Molina invites you to join her in sewing and quilting. Visitors are invited to reserve a time slot below (maximum 10 participants per time slot).
